Our Advanced Academics program offers students an opportunity to learn at a faster pace and delve deeper into their favorite subjects. This program provides challenging coursework and a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking and creativity.
Give your children the building blocks for a prestigious career with advanced academics from the professional staff at Arcadia Academy in Miami, Florida. We offer a widespread selection of comprehensive morning and after school care, as well as educational programs. Our academic program is in tune and designed to meet the needs of our students and how they learn.
We integrate technology into the programs with a variety of methods, including the Smart Board™. Smart Board gives access to a whole global network of information at the touch of a button. As an interactive tool, the students and teachers may access the system together for global learning, international student exchange learning, and webinars.
The New Generation State Standards serve as the basis for our curriculum. These are the required goals for all the students in the State of Florida. They provide a guideline for us to ensure that the students are acquiring the mandated skills at each grade level.
By working with these goals throughout the school year, we ensure that each student has the opportunity to engage in educational experiences in academics, arts, and physical fitness. You may obtain a copy of the state standards for kindergarten through eighth grade from the Florida department of education at www.fldoe.com.
Title 1 students who have been recommended for our services must obtain a parental consent form to attend from 3:15pm to 4:00pm and 4:05 pm to 4:45pm. For advanced or gifted students, the administration places students in advanced classes based on ITBS (Iowa Tests of Basic Skills) scores and teacher recommendations. Some programs offered may represent an additional cost to the parent. Eligibility for the preparatory school program requires:

Our partnership with the Children’s Trust provides resources and support for children and families in our community. This program focuses on improving the lives of children and their families through a comprehensive approach to child welfare and enrichment.
Arcadia Academy offers convenience to parents by offering after school services, as well as spring, winter and summer camps. Our after school hours services are sponsored by The Children’s Trust.
In the late 1980s, recognizing that the needs of children in Miami-Dade County far exceeded the resources and support systems available, a cadre of committed individuals spearheaded a drive to address the problem. Using a Florida statute that allowed for such an initiative, the group generated a two-part referendum in 1988. Voters overwhelmingly recognized the need to help area children, but declined to fund the remedy through tax revenues.
The Children’s Trust, our staff and a 33-member board remain committed to funding programs that offer the highest possible quality services, with the goals of implementing best practices and improving the lives of children and families in our community. Beginning in 2013 and over many months of 2014, The Trust, together with our board and with public input, generated the 2014 Strategic Plan. The revised plan maintains our funding focus on core programs while adding emphasis on collaboration and meeting the needs of the “whole child.”
We work with the Early Learning Coalition to provide early childhood education programs that ensure our youngest students receive the best start in their educational journey.
The Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring early care and education for children in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. Through a variety of affordable and innovative early education and voluntary pre-kindergarten programs, the Coalition serves more than 50,000 children ages birth to 12 years old and their families.
We accept the Step Up for Students scholarship, which provides opportunities for low-income families to access private schooling or assistance for transportation to a public school in another county.
Many of our families apply for state assistance to help pay for our private school tuition. State programs, such as Step Up for Students, allow families to choose a school that is right for their child without the financial burden. Currently, Arcadia Academy accepts Step Up for Students scholarships from families who are eligible and accepted for admission at our school.
Step Up For Students was created to help alleviate the enormous educational challenges faced by children in Florida who live in or near poverty. The program provides Tax Credit Scholarships to students in K-12 who come from low-income families. These scholarships allow the students to consider a participating private school or an out-of-district public school that may better suit their individual needs, an option which already is available to families of greater financial means. This choice is not based on whether the public school is judged as succeeding or failing. Rather, it recognizes that different children learn in different ways and that our collective struggle is to help the students who often are at the greatest disadvantage in modern education
Our VPK program provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families.
The Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program – or VPK – is a free prekindergarten program for 4 and 5-year-olds who reside in Florida. Participating children must be 4 years of age on or before September 1st. Parents can enroll their child in the state’s free, voluntary prekindergarten (VPK) education program that year or wait until the following year when their child is 5.
